Moderna responded on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, to confirm the vaccine dose is still effective and provides the protection needed against COVID-19. The Department of Corrections contacted Moderna that day to determine the effectiveness of the vaccine. The issue was discovered in the course of quality assurance checks.
